back to the grind

3-22-10

Art directly affects my mood. It seems silly that this morning I was elated upon finding out I had made it into Spectrum, then mopey after Photoshop crashed on me at work. Seems I was unable to make a confident mark for the rest of the day. Now I'm anxious about catching up, and guess what! The work is suffering for it.

I'm a fifteen year old girl.

the other day I had the "frustration/fear of falling behind" feeling and drew this

While I was thinking about this...

Sup,

so, been burning the midnight oil on this one for the past few days. I feel pretty confident about showing it. Unfortunately, the deadline for the competition over at cghub.com is past. (way to go adam!) Either way, I learned loads doing this one.

Hey folks,

The Moonbot guys and myself have gotten some local life drawing sessions going. It's been great to see all the local Shreveport art folks come out the woodwork to do some drawing.

EDIT::

after doing some internet trolling I stumbled upon these art sites.....you know how sometimes you forget what the internet is like. Well these were a nice cage rattling for me. I'm floored.

cool stuff

competitions etc

Dudes,

Good day today. I have some in progress stuff to share, but first off...

does anybody else play that game? It's high time it is taken to the next level. An unofficial way to copyright something. You know 'TM' and 'Copyright' well we're going to bring DIBS to that level of claimancy. Through the web, through art and through the most effective time tested marketing technique, human interaction.

more on that later. I've got some art to share. Here is some process for an online competition piece...

"Dazzling Prancer - WIP"

I've also been revamping my website (with help). It's been a trip over the past week watching it break and fix as we firefight the design/interface.

adamvolker.com

If you follow the blog (thanks), but you will have likely seen all the work. Everytime I put it all together I realize how much I still have to learn. ::sigh::

thanks for dropping by!
